FAT HUMMINGBIRD

I never have seen
A fat Hummingbird
Just thinking the thought
To me seems absurd

They zip here zip there
To visit their friends
Like fat bumblybees
So different from them

To be round and chubby
Like striped bumblybees
Round flying balls
Are so funny to see

I think bumblybees
Might say to their friends
You need to slow down
Enjoy till the end

That’s just how we are
And how you are too
We’ll always be friends
Just we, me and you

I was watching hummingbirds and bumblebees feed off the same flowers and thought, "Hmmm, bumble bees are very round and I've never seen a fat hummingbird." Sometimes that's all it takes for a Silly Kids Poem.
