FROG IN MY POCKET
I was standing alone
By myself, by the bog
That’s when I heard
What sounded like a frog
I checked in my pocket
The most obvious place
Nope, nothing there
No warty froggy face
I looked under my shoe
To see if I could see
If I had stepped
On a frog, it could be
Not a croak, not a peep
There was nothing there, YET
There WAS a sound
And it growled like a bear
Just what was going on
First a croak, then a growl
Totally NOT
A yowl or a fowl howl
It happened once more, but
I knew now what it was
For sure a growl
That’s just what stomachs does
LISTEN TO ME READ
I'm amazed by how many different sounds a stomach can make. Mine, for the first time in my life, when it rumbled, sounded like a frog. Really! So I wrote this.
