GERTRUDE the GIANT
I woke up just this morning
And what to my surprise
My feet hung o’re the end of my bed
I was ten times my normal size
I’m usually not that big
My brother says I’m small
I have no idea why this would be
But now I’m really REALLY tall
When I stood I hit my head
I can’t fit in my house
My pajamas are too small for me
My cat is the size of a mouse
Then a thought occurred to me
What will I eat for lunch
Fixing breakfast was a bit too much
I ate bananas by the bunch
Mom will worry, yes she will
I’m sure I weigh a ton
Of course some things could be difficult
Still, all in all, this is quite fun
All good stuff must end I guess
Things just aren’t what they seem
A voice said, “Hey, wake up, sleepy head.”
Of course it was all just a dream
I wonder if all kids have had a dream like this. It was fun to think about as I wrote this one.
