IF I WERE A BUG

If I were a bug
What bug would I be?
Hmmm, if any sort of bug
What bug would suit me?

Grasshopper or pill-bug
Endless my choices are
Lightning bugs are really cool
No, you’d put me in a jar.

I think a little ant
Is what I’d like to be
They’re always going somewhere
With lots of friends for me.

Marching, walking, running
All around my little yard
Maybe I would rather be
A bug that doesn’t work so hard.

Instead of an ant
Perhaps better a moth
Perhaps better than that
Perhaps better a sloth.
